Congratulations to Mission Links and Gateway Education for re-gaining AEGIS accreditation! Member guardianship organisations must adhere to the AEGIS Code of Conduct which includes re-inspection every 4 years to ensure standards are being maintained.
As the new academic year begins, AEGIS is already off to a busy start. Yasemin recently took part in British Council's agent training programme in London, educating agents about AEGIS accredited guardians.
AEGIS also attended Alphe UK at the beginning of the month, promoting the importance of quality guardianship to agents and schools. Yasemin will be attending Alphe Secondary Focus in Frankfurt 29th September - 1st October 2017 where she will be giving a short presentation to agents and will be available on the AEGIS stand. Wishing everyone a successful academic year!
The AEGIS Trustees recently welcomed two new members to the board, Dr Helen Wright and Stuart Nicholson.
Helen is an internationally recognised leading educator and educational advisor. She has taught at and headed some of the UK's leading schools for over 20 years. During this time, and subsequently, she has created a significant portfolio of international education strategy roles, including a number of non-executive directorships.
Stuart is the Principal of Cambridge Centre for Sixth-Form Studies, an independent sixth-form college, and has over 25 years of experience in education. He is used to working as part of a board having been secretary and treasurer of ISA East, 2009-16, which followed on to the national Chair of Finance and national Vice-Chair of the Association.
We look forward to working with our new trustees and are grateful for their input and expertise.
Congratulations to Global Educational Guardians for gaining full AEGIS accreditation and welcome to AEGIS! GEG was founded in 2011 by a group of professionals with over 100 years of combined experience in the field of international education.
More good news! Parents Abroad, an AEGIS member Guardianship Organisation, successfully gained re-accreditation recently. Congratulations! Parents Abroad are based in Windsor and take responsibility, not just for the welfare, but also for the education of children in their care.
We are delighted with the number of Guardianship Companies being re-accredited and the surge in new interest also.

Congratulations to Best Start Education, based in Hertfordshire, for gaining full AEGIS accreditation. The founder, Elena Colquhooun, is a qualified teacher with many years experience of teaching in both state and private sectors in the UK. It has been the busiest year yet in terms of inspections for AEGIS.
We are very happy to have two new trustees join our Board of Trustees, Elodie Vallantine and Allan Walker. Here is a bit about them:
Elodie Vallantine, Acting Principal, Moira House Girls School
Elodie has over 15 years’ experience in both state and independent education. She has first-hand experience of two very different educational systems, having gained qualifications in France and in the UK. Elodie is passionate about education, having been a Chair of Governors in a primary school for 4 years as well as an examiner, a moderator and a teacher trainer for various examination boards since 2003.
Allan Walker, Director of International Schools, Malvern College
Allan has worked at Malvern College since 2009 both as Commercial Director and, latterly, Director of International Schools. Prior to this Allan worked at Harrow School for 10 years as Business Manager for the school’s commercial subsidiary.
