The new AEGIS Inspection Handbook and Guardianship Organisation Minimum Standards has now been released. Much hard work has gone into this all-in-one document which provides clear information and support for Guardianship Organisations wishing to go through our inspection process.
We have also introduced new fees which make the process more affordable for smaller companies just starting out in this sector.
Our aim is to share best practice in the guardianship of international students. The child is our priority!
We are very pleased to have Etherton Education join AEGIS. Etherton Education provides academic summer courses for international students aged 10-17, who want to study abroad in a UK boarding school. If you are coming to the UK to start at a boarding school in September, the Etherton pre-sessional summer course will help prepare you.
Rossall School has joined AEGIS! Founded in 1844, Rossall is a coeducational and boarding school for 2 - 18 year olds, with boarding (full, weekly, flexi) from age 7. Rossall School is based in Lancashire, 60 miles from Manchester airport. Further details about the school can be found on our website under the school search.

Yasemin will be taking part in the BSA training day 'Recruiting from the international market' on Tuesday 5th December 2017 in London, explaining the role of guardians. She will be joined by the lovely Nicola Lutz, Director of StudyTravel Magazine, who will be sharing her expertise about working with educational agents.
The Royal Masonic School for Girls has just joined AEGIS! RMS is a day and boarding school for girls aged 4 to 18 years, located within 200 acres of parkland in Rickansworth, Herts. The school welcomes a broad range of children, from girls who thrive on academic study to those who love sport; from confident dancers and actresses to gifted painters, designers and engineers.
We very much appreciate the support of all our school and guardianship orgainisation members. AEGIS is a non-profit organisation, with out the support of our members we would not exist and there would be no regulation of the guardianship industry. If your school is interested in joining AEGIS please contact Yasemin for further details email@example.com
Today, Yasemin is presenting to heads and school staff at Educate Forum about the importance of accredited guardians. AEGIS had a brilliant reception from schools and agents at British Boarding Schools Workshop last week, all keen to ensure safeguarding of international students. Plus a couple of meetings with Local Authorities has made for a busy couple of weeks! And not to forget the AEGIS safeguarding courses, Designated Safeguarding Lead training will take place on Thursday 9th November at ISI, London.
Congratulations to Mission Links and Gateway Education for re-gaining AEGIS accreditation! Member guardianship organisations must adhere to the AEGIS Code of Conduct which includes re-inspection every 4 years to ensure standards are being maintained.
As the new academic year begins, AEGIS is already off to a busy start. Yasemin recently took part in British Council's agent training programme in London, educating agents about AEGIS accredited guardians.
AEGIS also attended Alphe UK at the beginning of the month, promoting the importance of quality guardianship to agents and schools. Yasemin will be attending Alphe Secondary Focus in Frankfurt 29th September - 1st October 2017 where she will be giving a short presentation to agents and will be available on the AEGIS stand. Wishing everyone a successful academic year!
The AEGIS Trustees recently welcomed two new members to the board, Dr Helen Wright and Stuart Nicholson.
