Academic Families Achieves Gold Standard Re-accreditation

The lead inspector reported,

“Keeping the students safe is of paramount importance to Academic Families. The Operations
Manager undertakes the safeguarding roles of Child Protection Officer (CPO) and Designated
Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and fully understands what this entails. Two other members of staff
are appropriately trained and can deputise if necessary. Host families are required to re-do
their safeguarding training every three years as recommended. A termly newsletter is sent out
which as well as including safeguarding information, includes any other relevant information,
such as staff changes, reminders and other topical information. The most recent newsletter
contained relevant information about online safety…

In line with their service level agreements, the Guardianship Care Managers keep in contact
with schools and attend when required. Comments received from schools as part of the
accreditation process were extremely positive and particularly complimentary about the level
of communication.”

Gold Standard Accreditation is the most prestigious accolade that a guardianship organisation can hold.
