Taunton School</strong>
Taunton School is a traditional co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 0-18 years. The school is located on an extensive and safe campus on the edge of Taunton town and has excellent road and rail links with London. Taunton School was founded in 1847 and the beautiful old buildings are complemented by modern facilities including two swimming pools, two astro turf pitches, a fitness suite, a modern theatre, a music school, a spacious library, well-equipped art studios and latest DT suites with 3D printers.
Taunton School is a lively, international community leading the way in independent education. We offer the very successful IB Diploma alongside our A Level programme and pupils leaving Taunton School go on to top universities including Oxbridge.
Taunton School comprises Taunton School Preparatory (ages 0-13), Taunton Senior School (ages 14-18), Taunton School International (ages 15-17) and Taunton School International Middle School (ages 8-14). All share the same spacious campus, whilst Taunton School International Middle School is located in The Grange, a beautiful, traditional Manor House close to Taunton School.

Taunton School International</strong>
Taunton School International was established by Taunton School in 1996 to provide an intensive preparation for international students wishing to complete their education in a British school. Taunton School International has up to 84 places for boys and girls aged 14-16. The maximum class size is 10.
Our One Year intensive GCSE/ Pre-IB programme offers 23 examinable subjects and is an excellent preparation for students before they begin their A Level studies or the IB Diploma at Taunton School or elsewhere. This is a high quality course providing outstanding preparation, academically, socially and culturally for students wishing to move on to a British boarding school. Level of English required is intermediate to native speakers.
We want our students to participate fully in the life of their next school, and to help them develop the self-confidence to do so, Taunton School International runs a wide variety of clubs and sports. We enjoy full use of Taunton School’s excellent facilities and all games lessons and sports teams are fully integrated with students at Taunton Senior School, which is a fantastic opportunity for our students to make friends with British students. All of our students also take part in the many sporting, musical and house activities that are offered in Taunton School on weekdays and at weekends.

Taunton School International Middle School</strong>
Taunton School International Middle School was opened in 2012 for students aged 8-14, providing an intensive education in the English Language alongside core subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, ICT, Art, Drama, Music and Physical Education. This is a ‘stepping stone’ course which provides students with the necessary academic, extra-curricular and social skills to make the smooth transition into a British Preparatory or Senior School. The maximum class size is 10 and level of English is beginner to low intermediate.
Courses range in length from one term to two years, after which many students will move into Taunton School Preparatory, Taunton Senior School or Taunton School International, although others will be fully supported to find a school to continue their education in Britain or elsewhere.
Fees: £8,000 (Year 6) – £11,000 (Year 10) per term
Summer School</strong>
We have been educating international students on our Summer School courses for more than 20 years, providing a wonderful balance of academic subjects, sports, activities and trips. Our Summer School courses are between 10 days and 3 weeks and run from the end of June throughout July and August. The range of courses offer a genuine taste of British boarding school life and our students take home with them memories, experiences and friendships they will never forget. All our courses offer ideal preparation for entry into a British boarding school.
Academic – Junior (7-12 years) – 3 week course. This includes 15 hours of English plus 10 hours of other academic subjects per week. Maximum class size of 10 students. Supported by experiential and thematic learning. Full programme of activities, sports and trips.
Academic – Senior (13-17 years) – 3 week course. This course involves 15 hours of English plus 10 hours of other academic subjects per week. Maximum class size of 10 students. Educational trips to support classroom learning. External examination taken at the end of the course. Full programme of activities, sports and trips
Junior Multi-Sports (7-12 years) – 2 week course. This exciting course includes 15 hours of English plus 10 hours of sports per week. Maximum class size of 15 students. A different sport offered every day. Extensive use of sports facilities on our 56-acre campus. Ideal for those who love sport and want a real taste of British independent school life.
Science, Technology & Engineering – 2 week course. 15 hours of English plus10 hours of Science, Technology & Engineering per week. Maximum class size of 15 students. Lessons using the outstanding ICT, DT and Science facilities at Taunton School. Ideal for those who are interested in modern technology.
Pre-Sessional Courses – 10 day course. GCSE and Sixth Form pre-sessional. Maximum class size of 12 students. 3 hours of English plus 2 hours of other academic preparation per day including study skills, essay writing guidance, revision strategies, exam preparation and dealing with exam stress.
The courses are very popular, as they provide a well-supervised, structured and academic course in a safe environment. Lessons are taught by our year-round teachers and fees are all inclusive, including airport transfers.
