Portola Ltd Passes Preliminary Accreditation
Portola Ltd currently provides a guardianship service for European students.
The lead inspector reported,
“Care is taken to establish the expectations of the parents and school from the very beginning. The Directors meet with students and parents via a video call for an ‘on boarding’ session. This enables them to begin to build effective relationships from the very beginning, so that students are more likely to share concerns with their educational guardians should there ever be a need. Usually, parents will settle their children into their chosen school. The Directors will then remain in regular contact, including via a messaging app, to check that the students are happy or whether they require any assistance…. Portola Ltd has a designated safeguarding lead (DSL) who has completed appropriate training and demonstrates a secure understanding of how to handle a concern should one be raised. The DSL understands how important it is to work with schools and parents to support students should there ever be a mental health concern.”
Preliminary accreditation ensures all the essential requirements are in place to provide educational guardianship for international students.
