Safer Recruitment Training for Guardians, 3rd November 2020
By admin • October 8, 2020
The AEGIS Quality Standards include the requirement to follow safer recruitment procedures in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education. This training session will ensure that you know how to recruit staff, volunteers and homestays safely.
We are extremely pleased to be working with the very highly regarded Ann Marie Christian, safeguarding practitioner and qualified social worker since 1996, who regularly delivers safeguarding training and more recently, training around racial discrimination.
Ann Marie has specialised in safeguarding from 1992 and specialised within education and childcare settings since being a school based social worker in 1999. In 2010, she became an independent social worker and provides associate consultancy and training to various organisations including NSPCC, Local Authorities, Council of International Schools, AEGIS, Premier League, Multi Academy Trusts and more.
Tuesday 3rd November, 13.00 – 16.00 via Zoom.
What will the course cover?
Participants will explore the journey from creating a new post and advertising it, through to the mandatory induction process. We will also explore the safeguarding agenda, including good practice and the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead, referring to the DfE guidance “Keeping Children Safe in Education 2020” and other key documents.
We will learn about the behaviour’s offenders use to harm and access children. We will discuss real cases and look at trends. Creating an ongoing culture of vigilance.
This is not the Secretary of State accredited training, but rather an overview of the same content.
The course will be relevant to guardianship organisations.
