‘Trans Awareness: The Basics’ is an entry-level session, designed to create a comfortable learning space for people to ask their questions and build confidence in working supportively with trans people. The training will be delivered by Gendered Intelligence.
Session Overview
At the end of the session you will have:
An understanding of what “trans” means
Increased awareness of ways to be trans inclusive
Increased confidence in working with trans people as colleagues or young people
A basic overview of the key laws relating to trans people
Information about helpful resources
Q&A
The Q&A enables people to bring the focus of the session onto the key issues that matter to them and particular questions they might have.
About Gendered Intelligence
Gendered Intelligence is a trans-led charity working directly with some 500 young trans and gender questioning people from diverse backgrounds across the course of a year, primarily through youth groups and 1:1 mentoring services. Their experiences inform our wider work.
The charity provides training across all settings and to date have delivered training to over 30,000 professionals. All trainers are professional trainers/facilitators who are also trans identified, and who have extensive grassroots trans community knowledge.
